This final year of production, 1989 R107 presents beautifully in its rare colour scheme of Smoke Silver with Brazil Leather trim. It is a UK Specification car ordered overseas as a tax free sale, and sold on the 14th June 1989, according to its original bill of sale, via Intercar Holland to its one and only owner, a British Colonel serving in Germany.

It is fitted with a long list of desirable factory options including full leather trim with rear seats, Air Conditioning, heated seats, cruise control, tinted glass, headlamp wash-wipe, electric windows, outside temperature gauge, and even a limited slip differential and sump shield which was very rare!

The exterior of the car is in excellent condition with superb paint work and all rubbers and trims are unmarked. The wheels have recently been refurbished to the factory finish and shod in a new set of Michelin tyres. The car still has its original brown soft top, in immaculate condition, a testament to the treatment of the car.

Inside, all the leather is in fabulous condition with the only sign of use being the most minimal amount of wear to the driver seat. The car still retains its original Mercedes-Benz Becker radio/cassette unit and electric aerial.

In the boot, the factory tool kit is all present and correct, its original first aid kit and the original Mercedes-Benz/Becker CD Changer.

The car has its original purchase invoice for DM82,038, tax free! Its complete Mercedes-Benz book pack, including fully stamped service book, and the two hard/soft top removal levers. The car also comes with a very rare Mercedes-Benz wind deflector which was purchased when new.

The history shows that the Colonel remained in Germany, as the service book shows a continuous history with many stamps from just two German Mercedes-Benz dealers up until 2005.

In 1996 the Colonel registered the car in the UK presumably whilst he was still working in Germany. It is believed he retired in 2006 and brought the car back to the UK on a permanent basis, then using Mercedes-Benz dealers, Vikings of Canterbury for the servicing.

Latterly, the car has been gently exercised according to its annual MOT history, covering just 3,000 miles in the past 10 years. It has just had a major service carried out by Goss Hall Classics, a very respected local specialist and it’s now ready for its second owner.
