This final year of production, 1989 500SL finished in the stunning and rare colour scheme of Petrol Blue with Mushroom Leather, must be one of the highest specification R107 produced, with many desirable and expensive options. 

This list includes Air Conditioning, Heated Seats, Rear seats, Orthopaedic Seat Adjustment to both front seats, Drivers Airbag, Outside Temperature gauge, Electric Tinted Windows, Cruise Control, Headlamp Wash-Wipe, illuminated vanity mirrors and factory alarmed central locking.

First registered in April 1989 and sold by Mercedes-Benz dealers Euro Car in Hereford who were to maintain the car for the next 3 years before the car moved North to the Bury area.

In 1994 the car moved down South and Guildford Mercedes-Benz dealers Puttocks serviced the car in 1994 with the mileage now reading 13,658 miles. The car then moved east, where Mercedes-Benz Dealers Brookes of Dartford maintained the car for the next 7 years. 

In 2002 it then passed through our hands, and was sold to the Scottish Borders where the new owners were to use Mercedes-Benz main dealers Coldstream to maintain the car. The mileage by now had climbed to just 35,260 miles in May 2003.

The last change of ownership took place in February 2005 and they were to keep it for over 16 years. It has been carefully maintained on an annual basis by Leicester Rolls Royce specialists Silver Lady with the mileage now showing just 57,350 miles.

Today this stunning car presents beautifully with superb paintwork and a lovely interior which has had Mercedes-Benz Ribbed over mats fitted from new. It still wears its original black soft top and naturally a hardtop in matching Petrol Blue. 

Other delightful details include the original Mercedes tags for spare wheel and cruise control, original factory toolkit and the original leather book pack with handbook and stamped service book. Recent works include a new set of Michelin tyres and an air conditioning overhaul.
